A huge amount of pleasure can be derived from chartering a sailing yacht and skippering it yourself.
There is so much to see and do within the Solent and a Solent charter offers opportunities to visit lots of different and interesting places within a weekend or a week. From the busy port of Southampton and the naval port of Portsmouth, to Cowes and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, Lymington and Beaulieu on the edge of the New Forest, and Hamble on the River Hamble. To charter a bareboat yacht, you must have done a reasonable amount of sailing before and at least one other person on the boat should have the equivalent amount of experience and knowledge of an RYA Competent Crew certificate holder.
To charter one of our larger yachts you must have as a minimum an RYA Coastal Skipper qualification or have equivalent sailing experience on a similar sized yacht.
For our smaller yachts you need to hold an RYA Day Skipper Practical certificate or above and have skippered for at least 200nm on a sailing yacht in tidal waters, ideally in the Solent.

In addition to a Solent charter France, the Channel Islands, Poole, Weymouth and beyond to the West Country are all doable if weather and time permits.
