A huge amount of pleasure can be derived from chartering a sailing yacht and skippering it yourself.
There is so much to see and do within the Solent and a Solent charter offers opportunities to visit lots of different and interesting places within a weekend or a week. For a list of suggested places to visit during your Solent charter have a look
To charter a bareboat yacht, you must have a reasonable amount of sailing experience and at least one other person on the boat should have the equivalent amount of experience and knowledge of an RYA Competent Crew certificate holder.
To charter one of our larger yachts you must have as a minimum an RYA Coastal Skipper qualification or have equivalent sailing experience on a similar sized yacht.
For our smaller yachts you need to hold an RYA Day Skipper Practical certificate or above and have at least 200nm skippering experience on a sailing yacht in tidal waters, ideally in the Solent.
