Join us on board with a local Southampton Tour guide for a historical sail around the Solent and discover how these waters shaped the history of this area.
Proclaimed a Royal Forest by William the Conqueror there is the New Forest that supplied wood for ships such as HMS Victory, and going back further Henry VIII’s ship such as the Mary Rose which sank outside Portsmouth; there is the Netley Chapel that used to be the centre piece of a great military hospital that closed in 1978. There is the Royal Pier in Southampton and Osborne House on the Isle of Wight built in the 1840’s for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
The area is steeped in history. Combining a history guide and some sailing all makes for a fun and interesting day on the water.
