The annual Round the Island Race is the largest yacht race in the world with usually over 1800 yachts competing to be first around the Isle of Wight. It is a fantastic spectacle and a great day out with festivities at the end of the day in Cowes.
The 2020 Round the Island Race is on Saturday May 30th.
There are 3 ways to take part.
Book a Berth
– through our sister company First Class Sailing we have single berths available on 72ft yachts with a professional skipper and mate. It doesn’t matter if you have lots of experience or zero experience. There is a training day on the Friday before spending the evening alongside in Cowes. The Round the Island Race itself is on Saturday and there will be an early start. After the race the boat will head back into Cowes to join in the party. Then on Sunday there is a leisurely sail back to base. For more details visit

Skippered Charter
– book a yacht to yourselves and one of our skippers. We meet on the Thursday evening or Friday morning for a day’s training, then up early Saturday morning to make the start line. At the end of the day we will berth on the Isle of Wight and you can take dinner a shore and join in the post race festivities before having a leisurely sail back Sunday morning to Shamrock Quay. This race is a must for any sailor and we provide a good balance between racing, fun and social.
Bareboat Charter
– book a yacht and you skipper her. You will need a good amount of sailing and racing experience for this option.
